The Road to Terry - 023 - Blinders

I’ve been operating with the blinders on for almost 2 decades. People may not like this about me. I’m quiet in real life and energetic on stage. That’s not because I’m anti-anyone. I just know that I need to keep my head down, and peak up every now and again.

Others may argue this will isolate me from people, and contribute to my lack of success. I don’t believe that’s true. This is why.

Think about Michael Jordan. How many shots did he take in his lifetime before his prime? How many pages of lyrics has Eminem written? How many books has Stephen King written?

That level of practice and dedication is what I’m about. I used to do my homework at school so I could go home and make records. I couldn’t tell you how many hours I’ve spent writing. The blinders are on and that’s what it takes to reach the level that I want to be at.
