New year, new you: Make some musical resolutions
When the new year comes, everyone evaluates themselves and makes resolutions to try to become better.
While WordPlay T. Jay knows some resolutions survive better than others, there are many you can make as a musician that will help you thrive in 2022.
For one, make a point to prioritize your mental health. Use BetterHelp or find a therapist through your insurance to help you stay mentally fit.
Meditate if you can, using apps like HeadSpace and Calm, because meditation can help center you mentally.
Poor mental health can be a barrier to everything else in your life, so make sure your head is right.
After that, physical health is important — exercise, diet and sleep. Exercise any way you can, be it walking, sports or at the gym. Anything you do helps.
Pay attention to what you eat and eat the things that make you fell good, and avoid the things that make you feel bad. Track your sleep if you need, meditate before bed or take naps if you need.
Once you have yourself in a good place, look at the music business you have and study it. You have to promote, whether it’s paid or organic, and distribute as much good music as possible.
The most important things are quality and consistency. Practice what you do and perfect it, then consistently put out content to build your business and grow.
