The Road to Terry - 041 - What Does 33 Feel Like?
CliffNotes: The Same
Long Version:
The way I think about my days are a little bit different at my age. My mind is consistently focused on the future, but when I take a step back I can zero in on the present. Reality is one constant moment which is now. My body may be different from 33 years ago, but my spirit is the same. When I do consider the past, I remember my most distant memory. I remember being in a house with white walls and my parents are staring at me in conversation. I feel the existence of my spirit every time I think about this moment. My spirit then is my spirit today.
That reminds me that time is a construct. My body may be achy and my hair may be turning white, but I don’t feel any different. I learn new things every day, yet I feel no different. The only change is how much I give a damn in a given moment. I care less about things I cannot control. That’s where I am. Ultimately, I wouldn’t change a thing. This is the best time in my life and it’s only getting better.
