How to submit your music to Amazon Music Playlists

One newer way to get your freshest tracks out to the public is via Amazon’s Music for Artists and playlists.

WordPlay T. Jay fist mentioned this method about a year ago, and it is still in Beta form.

It is available to any artist and offers analytics and opportunities to grow songs or make music better.

To pitch your new music to a playlist, open Amazon Music for Artists, select new release and choose a track that meets the eligibility requirements.

Songs cannot be more than 15 days old, and there is a limit of only on track per release.

“Choose wisely,” T. Jay said. “My advice is to go more with what the people like instead of the one you like.”

Re-releases and re-masters are also ineligible.

You then have to work with your distributor to get the song to Amazon’s streaming service.

Once submitted, there are a slew of other questions to help with promotion and analytics.

The app asks things like why listeners will love the song, how you plan to promote it and your strategy for pushing the track. You also have to pick a relevant genre and mark if it has lyrics or is an instrumental.

Then, there are optional questions, such as what artist is the song most like, where is your biggest fanbase and what is the vibe and category of the track.

Lastly, if you haven’t already, you have to claim your account on Amazon Music for Artists. Click “claim artist” and search for your name, then hit claim and enter the relevant info.

Doing this will give you the back-end analytics and statistics offered by the service.
